J. Ross Milley, MD, PhD is Professor of Pediatrics/Neonatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is a board certified neonatologist who sees newborn infants admitted with special care needs to the Newborn Intensive Care Units at University of Utah Hospital, Primary Children’s Medical Center and Intermountain Medical Center. Dr. Milley has no outpatient practice.

Research Statement

Over years past, Dr. Milley has been engaged in research designed to understand the influence of maternal factors on fetal metabolism. These studies have extended to others related to newborn GI physiology. More recently Dr. Milley has assisted younger investigators in the design and communication of their research efforts, specifically those related to understanding the mechanism by which intrauterine stressors alter metabolism in manners that persist into adult life.
