A native of Utah, Dr Jeffrey Saffle attended college and medical school at the University of Chicago, graduating in 1976. He then returned to Utah, and completed residency training in Surgery as well as a fellowship in burn care at the University of Utah. He joined the faculty in 1982, and served as Director of the Burn-Trauma ICU from 1985-2012. He is Board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Saffle is past-President of the American Burn Association and the Southwestern Surgical Congress. He currently serves as chairman of the American Burn Association’s Multicenter Trials Group, and also serves on the Medical Advisory Board and Research Advisory Board of the Shriners Hospitals of North America. Dr. Saffle has published over 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a number of book chapters and numerous abstracts. He currently serves as Director of the Department of Telemedicine for the University of Utah Health Center.
