Kyle M. Smith, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
Dr. Smith obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He subsequently received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed a combined residency in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Utah. Currently, Dr. Smith works as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Primary Children's Hospital with the Child and Adolescent Residential and Day Treatment Programs at the Wasatch Canyons Campus.
As a board certified pediatrician and child psychiatrist, Dr. Smith has an interest in enhancing collaboration between pediatrics and child psychiatry. He is also interested in the behavioral and psychiatric problems commonly seen among youth with chronic physical illness. In his role as medical director of the Child and Adolescent Residential and Day Treatment Programs, he is working to identify interventions to improve quality of care through the use of standardized outcome measures.
