Katherine Carlson, MD is a psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of addiction to substances including alcohol, heroin, pain pills, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. She is board certified in both Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. Her main clinical focus is the outpatient care of individuals seeking sobriety and recovery from the psychological and physical devastation caused by substance abuse. She has extensive experience using medications including Suboxone to assist in outpatient detoxification and long term treatment. She runs a medical clinic that specializes in the care of patients with co-occurring psychiatric disorders and chronic pain. Her clinic also provides psychotherapy to build resilence and strengthen recovery efforts. In addition, she is the Medical Director of Recovery Works Intensive Outpatient Program and is able to provide comprehensive assessment and referral services.
