Dr. Huong Meeks completed her Ph.D. in Nutritional Epidemiology at Utah State University and her post-doctoral fellowship in Genetic Epidemiology at Huntsman Cancer Institute. She then worked as a biostatistician at the Pedigree and Population Resources Department at HCI where she collaborated with researchers across multiple disciplines including obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, urology, nutrition, neuropsychology, among others. She joined the faculty of the University of Utah School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Pediatric Critical Care in 2022. Dr. Meeks is a life course epidemiologist and demographer with special expertise in population health and longitudinal data, familial and survival analysis.

Her research interest focuses on the longitudinal effects of family, individual and neighborhood socio-economic status, and other social determinants of health on adverse health outcomes.
