Sharon Talboys, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor in the Public Health, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Her teaching and research focus is on applied public health practice in global and local settings. Her research contributes to our understanding of how health systems and services perform in meeting community health needs and informs evidence-based policy development. She has conducted several studies examining socio-cultural factors that affect health behaviors and outcomes in the areas of mental health, COVID-19, sleep, and cancer screening. She is recently interested in implementation science to accelerate the adoption of new innovations such as HPV self-testing to prevent cervical cancer.

Dr. Talboys earned her PhD in Public Health from the University of Utah, MPH in International Health, Behavioral Science and Health Education from Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health, and BS in Anthropology at State University of New York at Geneseo.
