Mindy Vanderloo, PhD, CMHC is a Senior Research Analyst at the Social Research Institute, University of Utah. She is member of the Utah and IV-E Waiver evaluations teams, where she is the co-lead of the decision making study and the lead on trauma-informed care evaluation. Her research focuses on decision making, developing and conducting program evaluation and improvement approaches for child welfare and juvenile justice programs. She has developed and conducted trainings on evidenced-based approaches to working with and treating youth and families. Additionally, she has provided consultation on the implementation of evidence-based practices, trauma treatment, and trauma-informed care for programs funded by the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice, Utah Division of Juvenile Justice Services, Utah Juvenile Court, and Utah Division of Child and Family Services.

Dr. Vanderloo is licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and maintains an active clinical practice conducting assessment and treatment of youth who are experienced traumatic events and are involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. She has been trained and has experience in multiple therapeutic approaches including Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma treatment, play therapy, attachment, and is a Utah Network on Juvenile Offending Sexually (NOJOS) certified clinician.
