As the director of the clinical knowledge management development team at Intermountain Healthcare, I manage a team of software developers who build and maintain our enterprise clinical knowledge repository. I have relevant experience in clinical knowledge management, enterprise data warehousing, and relevant healthcare data exchange standards. I have been a member of the international health IT standards body Health Level Seven (HL7) since 2006. As part of my work with that group, I have applied working experience with the standards created by the Clinical Decision Support Workgroup. In addition, I maintain a close working relationship with the leadership of the Clinical Genetics Institute at Intermountain Healthcare on a number of strategic projects. I have worked previously with clinicians on a number of important development projects, including the development of both patient and provider-facing applications with strong ties to clinically relevant patient education materials.

I have previously worked the University of Utah and Intermountain Healthcare's enterprise data warehouse teams as part of a local, state-based federated data sharing environment, called FURTHeR. I have worked with local physician leadership and technical teams to build this infrastructure in support of a statewide research effort aimed to better characterize genetic predispositions for specific adverse pregnancy outcomes.

My current research projects include:
- Infobutton development at Intermountain (for providers via Cerner's EHR and for patients through our patient portal)
- Family health history collection tools
- Consumer-facing risk assessment tools
- A FitBit project aimed at connecting patient's activity data back to their profiles to reduce risk of disease
- Integration of full pedigrees into the EHR
- Representation of genetic data in the medical record.
