Research Statement
My research and scholarship interests center on end-of-life care and pain and symptom management and I find I do my best work in interdisciplinary, collaborative teams. I am currently involved in a number of research studies including as Co-I of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant entitled Implementing and Evaluating Innovative Research to Guide Hospital Nurses in Pain Management and as Collaborating Scientist on an NCI funded P01 grant entitled Enhancing End-of-Life and Bereavement Outcomes Among Cancer Caregivers. Previous research has included other studies on pain care quality, hospice nurse and family caregiver interaction, rural palliative care, and hospice volunteers.
