My research and scholarship interests center on end-of-life care and pain and symptom management and I find I do my best work in interdisciplinary, collaborative teams. I am currently involved in a number of research studies including as Co-I of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant entitled Implementing and Evaluating Innovative Research to Guide Hospital Nurses in Pain Management and asCollaborating Scientist on an NCI funded P01 grant entitled Enhancing End-of-Life and Bereavement Outcomes Among Cancer Caregivers. Previous research has included other studies on pain care quality, hospice nurse and family caregiver interaction, rural palliative care, and hospice volunteers.
