Dr. Ryan M. Broxterman, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition & Integrative Physiology at the University of Utah, and a Research Health Scientist at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center. Dr. Broxterman is a member of the Utah Vascular Research Laboratory (UVRL) and maintains an extramurally-funded research program. His research broadly focuses on the integration of vascular, metabolic, and neuromuscular function as determinants of health and physical function. This includes assessing vascular function, oxygen transport and utilization, exercise tolerance, and skeletal muscle bioenergetics in health and disease. Dr. Broxterman has published over 65 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as European Respiratory Journal, Hypertension, Journal of Physiology, and Journal of Applied Physiology.
