Tianxin Yang, MD/PhD, is Professor of Medicine with Tenure and the Dialysis Research Foundation Endowed Chair in the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Nutrition & Integrative Physiology (NUIP) at the University of Utah, and Senior Research Career Scientist at the VA Salt Lake Health Care System. Dr. Yang received a MD degree from Zhongshan University in China, a PhD degree in Renal Physiology from Tokyo Medical & Dental University in Japan, and completed Postdoctoral Fellow training at University of Michigan. Then he continued his renal physiology research as Senior Staff Fellow and Staff Scientist at National Institute of Health. Dr. Yang has been a faculty member at the University of Utah since 2002. Dr. Yang’s laboratory addresses the fundamental mechanism of renal control of electrolyte and fluid metabolism, and translates bench discoveries to novel therapeutics for hypertension and kidney disease.
