Ting Sun, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in Surgical Education in the Department of Surgery and Educational Researcher in the Office of Surgical Education at the Utah School of Medicine. With specialty in quantitative methodology, Dr. Sun’s research interests include psychometrics, online learning, self-efficacy, and medical education. Her research mainly focuses on providing validity and reliability evidence of assessment measures in education. She is also interested in the assessment of surgical competence and outcomes using advanced quantitative methods or machine learning techniques.

Dr. Sun grew up in China and holds her Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She received her postdoctoral training from Northwestern University.
