  • About Me

Raised in a suburb of Salt Lake City and blessed to call the various peaks and valleys of the Utah mountains my home. I spent summers hiking and fishing, and winters trying not to wreck on the ski slopes too often. Undergrad pulled me away from the Wasatch Mountains to the red rock of Southern Utah. During this time, I married my wife Jill; we both share a love for the outdoors and getting lost in a good book. While in medical school in upstate New York, Jill and I added a baby girl to our lives. We have so much joy together, as well as many games of peek-a-boo.

    Interests & Hobbies

When I am not chasing my spunky toddler or studying for work, I love to fly fish, hike, or snowboard preferably while listening to an audiobook. I really enjoy simple gatherings with friends and family, usually with food and a board game or two. My love for reading started early living in a home of bibliophiles, my favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and a bit of American literature.

    Why Utah?

In medical school, I was told you will know in your heart once you interview at the program you are supposed to be at. I thought this was medical school superstition until I interviewed at Utah. There is something special about this program, which was made quickly evident in my genuine interactions with the faculty, program leadership, and residents. Additionally, the mix of practice sites, including a strong university setting and high-quality community locations, is unique and particularly well-rounded. And of course, the nostalgia of seeing the mountains from my childhood everyday doesn’t hurt either.
