School of Medicine Research Events

Celebrating excellence in research across the School of Medicine. Annual events include the Celebration of Science and New Faces Symposium.

The School of Medicine Research Advisory Council hosts annual events in recognition of excellence and innovation across the research spectrum. Flagship research events currently include the Celebration of Science, which honors SOM faculty who have been recognized in the past year through the Cannon Research Excellence/Impact Award, a Discovery & Innovation Project nomination, or the Golden Anniversary Prize for Distinguished Clinical Investigation, and the New Faces Symposium, which recognizes faculty in the SOM within four years of their first appointment who exemplify the innovation, scholarly excellence, and academic leadership that define our overarching research mission.

Selected faculty are invited to give a 10-minute talk about their research at one of these events, with time for discussion and networking among all attendees.
