I come from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and grew up in a tiny town where there is nothing to do except ski and hike and be a volunteer firefighter/EMT. I worked as a paramedic for many years before I decided I wanted to become a doctor, so no one was surprised when I chose Emergency Medicine as my specialty. I have a wonderful partner, a loveable rescue pup, and a grumpy Maine Coon cat. When not doing doctor things, you can probably find me exploring the outdoors, cooking far too much food, or running that week’s D&D session.

Interests & Hobbies
I enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, and climbing, all the mandatory activities! When stuck indoors, I tend towards cooking, reading, (usually sci-fi or fantasy!) or puzzles and games. I like to crochet and am learning to spin my own yarn! I’m also deeply invested in my dog’s social life, and spend a lot of my time walking with her through the neighborhood.

Why Utah?
Coming from the other side of the country, I knew that Utah would be a gorgeous place to live and work, but I had never actually been here before! What really made me choose this residency was the program and the people who presented it so well during the interview. After signing off that day, I told my partner, “Utah has everything that I want in a program, and nothing that I don’t.” I was looking for a place where I could experience the range of Emergency Medicine, from urban to rural, and feel confident that I could thrive in any of those settings independently. I have no doubt that I’m in the right place for me!
