  • About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis where I spent all my time outdoors and developed a love for skiing. Yearning for a home mountain that was more than 150 feet tall, I moved to Seattle for undergrad where I got into every mountain sport I could. I joined a SAR team while there and by working alongside several ER docs on the team I found what I wanted to do with my life. After a couple post-undergrad years teaching adaptive sports and traveling, we moved to my wife's home state of Arizona and fell in love with the desert landscape. We're so excited to be moving up to Utah to get the best of both worlds: mountains AND desert!

    Medical Areas of Interest

    Rural EM, Austere/Wilderness Medicine, EMS.

    Interests & Hobbies

I will try, and likely love, anything that gets me outside: rock climbing, backcountry skiing, building and using packrafts, whitewater kayaking, SCUBA diving, trail running, bike touring, type II fun, and mountain biking. I also love cooking (but hate recipes), have become fairly accomplished at killing houseplants, and consider myself a bit of a hot tub connoisseur.

    Why Utah?

From my rotation at Utah I realized I had found my people. The faculty are phenomenal teachers who have an incredible passion for EM and diverse interests. The residents are incredibly kind, hard working, smart, and just always so fun to be around. In Utah I know I'm going to get fantastic training while being able to spend my free time having adventures in the most incredible landscapes--all with incredibly great people!
