Rowan Kelner, MD

  • About Me

I was born in Brooklyn, NYC but moved to London with my parents and identical twin brother when I was four. After 15 amazing years in the UK, I moved to rural Vermont to go to college where I studied biology and played rugby. After graduating, I worked as research tech at Dana-Farber studying radiation biology and transplant immunology in Boston. Now after 4 years in New York for medical school, I can’t wait to see what the west has to offer!

    Medical Areas of Interest

    Ultrasound, Evidence-based Medicine, MedEd

    Interests & Hobbies

Running, Downhill and cross country Skiing, cooking (currently in a bread making spiral), reading sci fi and fantasy novels, poker, playing chess, hiking and gardening with my fiancé, playing with my cat Beetle.

    Why Utah?

I was skiing at Brighton with my family, and we met a Utah EM resident who had been a climbing partner of my dad’s in Boston. We stayed in touch and he encouraged me to apply! When I came for my interview I knew this was the place for me. A huge catchment area for the University and world-class community site in Intermountain will make for great training. On top of everything it really felt like a team that I wanted to be a part of. I am so pumped to get to work (and ski, hike, and run when I can)!
