After growing up in the northeast taking weekend trips to the Green Mountains of Vermont, I knew I wanted to ultimately move out west. I graduated from Colorado College and then moved to Keystone, Colorado to begin ski patrolling, drawn to the patrol world by my passions for skiing and prehospital EMS. Though I absolutely loved my career as a patroller, the mentorship that I received from the EM docs who worked at the ski clinics and local hospital helped me realize that my ultimate goal is to become an emergency medicine physician (in a mountain town) myself. After 5 quick years patrolling, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into medical school. Though I like to tell myself that I kept an open mind throughout rotations, in reality I know I had the EM bug from the beginning and never looked back. Couldn’t be more psyched to continue this journey in Utah!
