Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Child and adolescent psychiatry is a unique discipline of medicine devoted to the mental health of youth and families. This discipline integrates biological, psychological, and social perspectives into the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cognitive, emotional, or behavioral disorders that begin during the developmental period. The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah is dedicated to nurturing the mental health of young people by combining the methods of medical and social sciences with the heartfelt respect for the healing power of caring relationships.
