Sweet Dreams/Dulces Sueños Study
We are conducting focus groups to help us develop a new intervention to improve sleep among women of color. We are currently recruiting women to participate in these focus groups who are:
- Female Community Health Workers (CHWs)
- Ages 18+
- From one of the following communities:
- Black/African American
- African Immigrant
- Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
- Latina/x
Short sleep duration and poor sleep quality are associated with the development diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and depression as well as poorer quality of life. By conducting focus groups, we will improve our understanding of how women fit sleep into their busy lives and balance getting good sleep with other healthy behaviors and demands in their lives. With this data, we plan to develop an intervention to improve sleep in the participating communities.
