About Me
A native of Junction City, Kansas, Dr. Ervin began his undergraduate education at Hutchinson Community College, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team. Following his time in Hutchinson, he transferred to the University of Kansas and earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry. After two gap years working in the healthcare field in Boise, Idaho, he ventured back to the Midwest to complete his medical education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Ervin's medical interests include sports medicine, preventative care, rural health, wilderness medicine, and community outreach. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys hiking, skiing, participating in triathlons, and spending quality time with friends and family. He is also an avid sports fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and his home state Jayhawks. He chose the University of Utah for its outstanding faculty and residents, renowned expertise in family and sports medicine, and the stunning natural landscapes and outdoor recreation options that the state of Utah has to offer.
