Program Coordinator/Manager Advocacy Committee (PCMAC)
Mission Statement
The Program Coordinator/Manager Advocacy Committee (PCMAC) was created to promote fairness, equality, and job satisfaction among program coordinators/managers (PC/PMs), to implement ways to easily share information and processes between the cohort, and to educate program directors and administrators on the role and importance of the PC/PM position.
Accomplishments
The PCMAC has sought to improve the working environment for PC/PMs at the University of Utah through the initiatives below:
- Working with Human Resources to standardize job titles, responsibilities, and pay grades for PC/PMs across the institution
- Distributing an annual PC/PM Survey to assess their needs and priorities and guide new PCMAC and Office of GME initiatives that enhance engagement, professional development, and institutional support
- Connecting new PC/PMs with more experienced individuals for mentorship, if available
- Created automated monthly learning emails that provide reminders and resources for upcoming and ongoing tasks
- Recognizing outstanding work through PC/PM of the Year awards
- Collaborating with the Office of GME through ad-hoc PC/PM impact reviews to ensure that PC/PMs have a voice in operational changes
The PCMAC’s two taskforces, focusing on Best Practices and Wellness, also implement their own initiatives, which are listed on the Taskforces page.
