About Me
Alex is a native of Colorado and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. There, he completed a bachelor’s in biochemistry. During his undergraduate, he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer DeLuca and completed a research project examining kinetochore protein phosphorylation during mitosis. After graduation, Alex worked for both a pharmaceutical start-up company and as a quality assurance technician for an international biomedical device company. He began the Physician Scientist Training Program at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in 2013, where, in addition to medical school, he researched the effects of metabolic changes in cancer cells on antitumor immune activity. Alex is passionate about general neurology and neurohospitalist care. He enjoys hiking, cooking, homebrewing, playing board games, and spending time with his newborn son.
