Neurology Department Residencies
Choosing a residency is one of the most important decisions of your medical career.
As you explore programs, we invite you to learn what makes neurology training at the University of Utah unique. Our residents receive exceptional clinical training in a nationally recognized academic medical center while benefiting from a culture that values mentorship, collegiality, curiosity, and personal growth.
Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, our program serves patients from across the Mountain West and offers broad exposure to the full spectrum of neurologic disease. Residents work alongside dedicated faculty across every major neurology subspecialty, care for a diverse patient population, and gain experience in innovative programs spanning inpatient neurology, neurocritical care, stroke, telemedicine, and translational neuroscience.
Our neurology residency program emphasizes clinical excellence on the part of both residents and faculty.
Strengths of the program include
- a large patient population;
- individualized instruction in both general neurology and subspecialty disciplines;
- ample opportunities for exposure to clinical or basic research; and
- close working relations between faculty and residents.
Instruction is supplemented by faculty from other departments, including neurosurgery, neuropathology, and neuroradiology.
Whether your future includes academic medicine, subspecialty fellowship training, community practice, research, or leadership, we are dedicated to helping you build the skills, confidence, and professional foundation needed to achieve your goals.
We are delighted that you are considering the University of Utah and look forward to sharing our program with you.
