  • About Me

DanHung Nguyen was born in Saigon City, Vietnam, and likes to tell people he came over to the United States on a boat made of popsicle sticks, which really isn’t too different from the truth. As the son of immigrants, he is eternally grateful for his parents for giving him opportunities for which they, themselves, never had. He spent his youth in Southern California before moving to Salt Lake City at the age of five. His original dream was to be a NBA player, and as a young lad, he forced his mom give him mock postgame interviews because his biggest concern at the time was his shyness. Unfortunately, due to the combo of being sloth slow and having minimal coordination, he never realized this dream. He went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a doctorate in pharmacy. After working as a pharmacist for many years, he decided he wanted to do something more meaningful with his life and left for the Windy City to pursue a degree in medicine. During medical school, he dated and subsequently married the love of his life, his best friend, and soulmate, Margaret Vu. He graduated from Chicago Medical School in June of 2018. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with Margaret and their son, Wyatt; eating delicious foods; working out; biking; hiking; snowboarding; playing basketball; participating fantasy football; working on his screenplay/novel that he’ll never finish; and cold emailing NBA teams in hopes of landing a job as a general manager for a professional basketball team. Dan will be doing a vascular fellowship at the University of Minnesota and then will be doing an IR fellowship in Texas.
