About Me
Lauren was born in Boulder, Colorado and grew up in Alaska, spending her early childhood in Juneau before moving to Anchorage, where she developed a deep appreciation for rural communities and the outdoors. She became fascinated by the brain at a young age, drawn to its complexity and its deep connection to identity and human experience. She earned dual degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of Alaska Anchorage while competing as an NCAA Division II sprinter. As a medical student at the University of Washington through the WWAMI program, she focused on caring for remote populations, particularly in Alaska. She also helped lead outreach and mentorship programs for students in rural Alaskan villages. Lauren’s clinical interests include movement disorders and cognitive neurology, with a particular interest in their areas of overlap. Outside of medicine, she enjoys summiting peaks with her husband and their three dogs, long-distance running, trying new recipes, and growing her ever-expanding collection of houseplants.
