  • About Me

Matt was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, where he also attended medical school. His interest in neuroscience began at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he continues to mentor undergraduate students through the Alumni Mentoring Program. Since 2020, Matt has been involved in subarachnoid hemorrhage research, focusing on the effects of valproic acid on clinical outcomes and identifying predictors of ventriculoperitoneal shunt placement in patients with external ventricular drains. He has also participated in several community outreach efforts, including serving as a hands-only CPR instructor during his third and fourth years of medical school. Additionally, he won two competitions for identifying and registering 395 AEDs into a publicly accessible database. Outside of work, Matt enjoys skiing, climbing, and mountaineering. While in medical school, he climbed the Kautz Glacier route on Mount Rainier and went on several backcountry ski trips in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
