You may benefit by knowing if you test positive for COVID-19 on your weekly sample. You may use this information to protect other people from getting infected. Please note that you may not know the results for up to a week after testing. Although the molecular tests for COVID-19 used in this study are highly accurate, they are not perfect. It is unlikely, but a negative test result can occur even if you are infected. In addition, a negative test result will not tell you if you have been infected in the days since you collected your sample.
Your participation in this study also has a chance to teach us a lot about COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. If so, that could benefit you, or someone you know, in the future.
