As the official health care providers for the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, and all University of Utah Athletics teams, the Sports providers at the University Orthopaedic Center are proud to care for an elite corps of athletes and active people of all ages, and to manage and monitor conditions over time.
The Sports team provides care and performs research under the leadership of Professors Robert T. Burks, MD, and Patrick E. Greis, MD, Associate Professor Stephen K. Aoki, MD, and Assistant Professor Travis G. Maak, MD. Research interests include the usage of new technologies for treatment of overuse injuries, the pediatric and adolescent athlete, and all aspects of knee, hip, and shoulder surgery, including patellar dislocations, knee joint reservation and cartilage restoration, hip joint arthroscropy and preservation, knee and hip biomechanics, shoulder instability, and rotator cuff issues.
