About Me
Scott is a first-year medical student who works as a research assistant in the Voice, Airway, Swallowing Translational Research Lab (VAST Lab) in the Department of Otolaryngology. He joined the VAST lab in 2018 as an undergraduate researcher while studying vocal performance, but soon changed his education path to prepare for medical school. After completing a thesis project regarding screening methods for dysphagia sponsored by the VAST lab and the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), he graduated in Spring 2023 with a BS in Anatomy and Physiology (Vocal Music minor emphasis) and was admitted to medical school. Scott hopes to remain involved in the VAST lab while studying at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine to better prepare him for a residency and career in Otolaryngology.
