Why Utah?
Why I chose Utah:
University of Utah was the only program that did not require any compromises in terms of choosing between the training, the people, or the location. It offers high case volumes and early operative experience, a variety of rotation sites, flexibility both in terms of taking professional development time and what you do during it, and most importantly I knew it would prepare me equally well to go either directly into practice or pursue any fellowship I may want to do. The residents obviously genuinely got along and enjoyed each other, and living Salt Lake City allows unparalleled access to year round outdoor activities.
