    Dr. Ashraf Patel is from Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate training in Biology at Emory University and earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Patel has additional schooling from King’s College London.

    Medical Areas of Interest

    Dr. Patel is interested in all aspects of Plastic Surgery, with particular interests in breast reconstruction, microsurgery, gender-affirming surgery, aesthetic surgery, global health, research, and medical device innovation.

    Interests & Hobbies

    Dr. Patel enjoys graphic & web design, equestrian polo, painting, photography, hiking, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

    Why Utah?

    Dr. Patel was drawn to the University of Utah’s Plastic Surgery program because of the strong clinical and operative experience in all aspects of plastic surgery, fellowship options in nearly all plastic surgery subdisciplines, excellent autonomy, and a robust mentorship model. The program also promotes a healthy culture that allows residents to thrive both in and outside of the hospital. Salt Lake City also provides a unique mix of an urban feel along with easy access to world-class skiing and beautiful hiking and biking trails.
