  • About Me

I was born and grew up in Northern Iran by the Caspian Sea (which is actually a lake, but the largest of them all). That makes me Persian or Iranian (some favor the former but I don’t care). I did my med school in Tehran before moving to the US to continue my education. Some would tell you I’m a research freak but at the end of the day I love seeing patients and being in the OR more than anything else (not more than a nice Western Section AUA trip to Hawaii though!). My controversial opinion is that politicians should be offered free vasectomies. That’s how as Urologists we can make the world a better place.

    Medical Areas of Interest

Mostly undecided but urologic trauma, men’s health, endo-urology and benign urology. For some reason I also like infectious disease so I guess urine microbiome interests me as well?

    Interests & Hobbies

Scuba diving, collecting shot glasses from the places I visit, Playing Taar (a Persian instrument), Persian traditional music, camping, skiing without hurting myself

    Why Utah?

I came here for a research fellowship and staying here was the best thing that happened to me! Everyone is so nice and supportive, SLC is safe, affordable and laid-back, traffic is not bad, there’s so much outdoors stuff to do, I love the snow and the ski resorts, and the training is also great! I’m happy here, that’s why!
