About Me

My decision to pursue a career in medicine stemmed from serving a mission in the South Pacific in Samoa, where I came to appreciate the value of serving others. During my time at Brigham Young University and medical school at the University of Central Florida, I developed an interest in cardiopulmonary physiology which led me to a residency in cardiothoracic surgery. I am grateful to my wife, family, and friends who have supported and helped me each step of the way through my career.

Why Utah?

University of Utah faculty and residents welcomed me with open arms from the first time I met them. I knew I wanted to come to an institution where I would learn to become a great surgeon and clinician in a supportive environment that allows my family and me to grow in many ways.
