Why Utah?

Why I chose Utah:

The U is a highly regarded academic program with the resources for whatever career path I choose. The broad catchment area and history of training confident rural general surgeons and producing highly academic surgeons made the U a place where I felt anything was possible. More importantly, the people and city felt like a place I could call home. You will not find a more supportive group of vulnerable, humble, and driven people to be the best they can be.

Testimonials:

Before day one of residency, my chief had me and my co-intern over to his house for dinner just to run through the basics of the rotation workflow, EMR, and expectations which helped reduce stress and prepare me for my first shift of residency. This intentionality to help me succeed has been present on multiple occasions within my first few months of residency, from faculty to nursing staff.
