About Me
Ingrid Adaeze Okonta, MS, is a medical student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine (UL SOM). She was born in Brooklyn, New York, but her hometown is Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biology at Georgia State University and then pursued a Masters in Biology at Georgia State University and a Masters in the Science of Healthcare Delivery at Arizona State University. Ingrid is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion efforts in medicine, public policy and health equity research. She has served as a student development assistant for the Summer Health Profession Educational Program (SHPEP) at the UL SOM program site. In addition, Ingrid has worked together with the admissions department at UL SOM on URM recruitment efforts. She serves as UL SOM Student National Medical Association MAPS/LSAMP Liaison, Student Representative on the UL SOM Anti-Racism Task Force, and a J. Robert Gladden Orthopedic Society Social Media Task Force intern. Ingrid is an aspiring Orthopedic surgeon, who loves outdoor activities, mediation, traveling, working on DIY projects and cooking spicy authentic “Nigerian delicacies”.
