Title: Computer TechnicianCorby is responsible for managing the IVC classroom equipment at the St. George campus. Corby ensures that our classroom technology works well to keep our SLC and St. George students and instructors connected. He has been involved with computers and tech work for most of his life, most recently working for Dixie State University. Starting at the University of Utah in early 2018, he has facilitated the IVC system during classes, as well as developed tools for teachers and students to use to improve their experience. He is currently in school at DSU finishing his degree in IT.
Title: IT Project ManagerDan is responsible for the technology involved in expanding the Physician Assistant Studies Program to St. George. He is interested in all kinds of geeky things. He got his first computer at age 10 and it’s been non-stop since then. Starting at the University in 2000, he has worked with large Unix systems for hosting websites, email, and database systems, and he has done software development in various languages. He is back in school working on an English degree.
Title: Director of AdmissionsAs Director of Admissions for the PA program, Doris is responsible for applicant advising and the development and implementation of admissions policies and processes. She earned her Master of Public Adminstration at the University of Utah, and joined the program in 2005. In addition, she serves as a member of the Recruitment and Admissions Council of the Physician Assistant Education Association, and chairs the Enhancements Committee for the national Central Application Service for Physician Assistants, CASPA.
Title: Didactic CoordinatorAbby is the coordinator for the UPAP didactic team. She manages a multidisciplinary schedule and works with the instructors and faculty to address student needs during their didactic year. In addition, she is responsible for management of the IVC classroom technology in the Salt Lake City classroom as well as grade entry, failure remediation, data processing and transcription, student registration, evaluation control, and event planning. Abby has a Bachelor degree from the University of Washington in Environmental Science.
Title: Academic Program ManagerMelissa is the Project Manager for the development of the St. George Distant Campus. She is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the implementation of the new Physician Assistant Studies program in St. George Utah. Her duties also include support of the Division leadership team. Melissa has a BS in Environmental Studies and over 10 years of experience in higher education.
Title: Clinical CoordinatorMandy is responsible for fostering communication between the PA Program and affiliated clinical sites. She acquires and maintains legal contracts, manages clinical rotation sites, maintains preceptor information and ensures student credentialing requirements are met. She also coordinates activities associated with the clinical year to include White Coat Ceremony and Graduation. Mandy is from Tucson, Arizona. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona and even though she loves the mountains and the change of seasons in Utah, an Arizona sunset will always take her breath away.
Title: Associate DirectorJocelyn provides financial and administrative direction to the division and helps to expand and implement the social mission of health education and practice. Jocelyn has over 20 years of experience in administration, leadership, and development in the nonprofit sector.
Title: Academic CoordinatorRebecca is responsible for coordination of graduate studies, including overseeing graduate degree records, reporting to the office of graduate studies, and coordinating annual master’s projects. In addition, she assists with weekly tutorial groups organizes the clinical practicum, and serves as Program Registrar to certify graduate verifications. Rebecca has two Bachelor degrees from the University of Utah in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies.
Title: Administrative AssistantLexi serves as an administrative assistant to the division and works with the leadership team to help facilitate the needs of program management. She is involved in the organization and planning of meetings and events. She went to California State University of San Bernardino and received her B.A. in English, with a focus in Linguistics. Lexi was a teacher for 7 years and taught English, English language development, world history, U.S. history, and keyboarding. She is excited to continue working in education with the Physician Assistant Program.
Title: Clinical CoordinatorJulie is responsible for coordinating clinical rotations for second year students in the division, managing a complex schedule of core rotations, rural and underserved rotations, elective experiences, and service learning activities. She communicates with providers and maintains relationships with preceptors. Julie oversees multiple databases utilized by the program to track and organize clinical schedules, rotation site and preceptor information, and evaluation processes. Julie has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education from Brigham Young University.
Title: Education CoordinatorKaren is the coordinator for the UPAP didactic team at the St. George campus. She has worked with the University of Utah for the past 18 years in the Containing Education and Community Enrichment (CECE) department and more specifically in the Professional Education department for the past 13 years managing the Corporate Employee Universities and Government (City Recorders and Treasurers) Academies. This opportunity has allowed her to make friends in almost every city in the state. Karen works closely with UPAP faculty, staff and instructors to address St. George student needs during their didactic year and clinical year.
