With over 30 years of expertise, the Neuroimmunology & Autoimmune Neurology Division specializes in diagnosing and treating complex immune-mediated inflammatory disorders of the central nervous system (CNS).
Conditions We Treat
Our division specializes in treating the spectrum of autoimmune and paraneoplastic neurological disorders, such as the following:
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Autoimmune encephalitis
- Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
- Neurosarcoidosis
- Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease (MOGAD)
- Stiff-person syndrome
- Myelopathy/transverse myelitis
- Central nervous system complications of rheumatologic disease
Our focuses intersect with all traditional neurology subspecialties, including movement disorders, epilepsy, behavioral/cognitive, neuromuscular, autonomic, demyelinating, and neuro-oncologic. See also our Multidisciplinary Sarcoidosis Program.
Faculty & Research
Our Autoimmune Neurology Clinic houses the largest group of both pediatric and adult Autoimmune Neurology Fellowship-trained faculty in the country. It is certified a Center for Comprehensive Care by the National MS Society and a Center for Transverse Myelitis.
Our research focuses include advanced MRI investigations of CNS demyelinating disease, pediatric MS (see usnpmsc.org), and transition of care for young adults. We also run clinical trials.
Education
We proudly foster the next generation of autoimmune neurologists through our two fellowshjp programs, Autoimmune Neurology and MS/Neuroimmunology. Please visit our fellowship pages for more information.
