The landscape of neuromuscular care and research is ever-changing. To help individuals who live with neuromuscular conditions keep up with the latest news and treatments, the Utah Program for Inherited Neuromuscular Disorders (UPIN) hosted a Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) Family Day on 10 June 2023, during which the team discussed genetics, care guidelines, treatment options, and current research trials. Chris Jones from Mitchell's journey also came out and gave a talk on resilience.
While the parents were connecting with each other and learning from the team, the children were entertained by video games and a magic show!
The UPIN also hosted their annual Family Day on October 28th at the Loveland Living Aquarium, where they covered topics such as coping mechanisms, research, and clinical trials. They also provided local resources.
