Dr. Clyde trained at the University of Pittsburgh and has a deep interest in and understanding of trigeminal neuralgia. He now spends most of his time treating various spinal afflictions in the community. He joined the department earlier this year, working out of Mountain West Medical Group Specialty Clinic in Tooele, Utah.
Dr. Clyde’s love of surgical practice, and his desire to use his hands to resolve underlying needs rather than manage symptoms, made neurosurgery, an intellectually rigorous field that offers practitioners tactility and opportunities to repair brain and spinal complications, the clear choice for his career. Dr. Clyde also enjoys the tight-knit community of surgeons
with similar passions. After years working closely with University faculty out of his own practice, Dr. Clyde made the decision to join the department earlier this year.
As the department expands, new programs have been developed to place gifted surgeons like Dr. Clyde at smaller hospitals including Mountain West Medical Group Specialty Clinic in Toole. These programs allow the U to reach out to local communities and give people greater access to specialty care they wouldn’t otherwise find so close to home. According to Dr. Clyde, these programs also allow practitioners to work lighter schedules that allow for more family time, less call time, and better opportunities to serve their own communities.
