Justin Zhang, MD

About Me

Justin was raised in Irvine, in sunny Southern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC San Diego where he competed on the NCAA Tennis team. He attended medical school at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and a Masters in Clinical Investigation at Washington University School of Medicine. He has a profound interest in using advanced MRI modalities, including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and diffusion basis spectrum imaging (DBSI), to treat patients with white matter diseases.

Why Utah?

I believe Utah is one of few programs that provides robust, comprehensive clinical and academic training in all aspects of neurosurgery, ranging from open vascular to nerve transfer. In addition, in my opinion, Salt Lake City is one of the best places to live, with some of the best outdoor activities in the country. Most importantly, the University of Utah possesses a family-like culture where residents, faculty, and staff have each others’ best interested in mind.
