Philip Tatman, MD, PhD

  • About Me

Phil grew up in the Midwest, moving frequently due to his parents' careers. He spent his summers in Washington State visiting family, where he developed a love for climbing and hiking. Out of high school, he pursued a career as a professional mountain guide in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska; however, he ultimately chose to pursue a career in medicine. His exposure to traumatic brain injuries and spine injuries made neurosurgery a natural fit. His interests expanded to tumor and cerebral vascular surgery while finishing his undergraduate education at the University of Washington. He went on to finish his MD/PhD at the University of Colorado before coming to Utah for his neurosurgical training.
