    About Me

I was born in Sacramento, CA, but grew up in the mountains and deserts of Utah. I attended BYU and followed a natural progression in my interests that led me toward a career in medicine. In medical school, I scrubbed in to my first surgery with the neurosurgery program here, and I was hooked! I met my wife in medical school, and she is a pediatrics resident at the U. We have an english cream golden retriever puppy and spend our free time chasing him through the winding streams, mountain lakes, and hiking trails of beautiful Utah.

    Medical Areas of Interest

My interests are still very broad, but I find myself drawn towards skull base or spine surgery.

    Interests & Hobbies

Running, playing with my puppy, hiking, swimming, fishing, and anything outdoors!

    Why Utah?

I don't think I realized how lucky I was to go to a Medical School with such a phenomenal Neurosurgery program until I was able to interview all over the country. Such a well-balanced program that trains you to be a confident and talented surgeon, as well as an accomplished researcher, is a rare occurrence. The University of Utah provides a vast diversity of cases, incredible training, mentorship, and development as a neurosurgeon. That coupled with the camaraderie of the resident cohort and attentive faculty who have a true passion for their patients, surgeries, and research create such an incredible environment that I knew how lucky I would be to stay here.
