What is MOC/CC?
ABMS Maintenance of Certification (MOC)/ Continuous Certification (CC) is a requirement of board certified diplomats without lifetime certification.
Specific requirements vary from board to board, and are routinely updated—check your board’s requirements often.

Part I) License in good standing
Part II) Life long learning (CME) -this is different from state licensure CME amount
Part III) Assessment test
Part IV) Quality Improvement/ Performance Improvement

Participating ABMS Member Boards and the NCCPA accept ABMS Portfolio Program-approved activities as meeting their requirements for continuing certification (MOC) credit.

Multiple boards can be submitted to for a single project and we encourage multidisciplinary projects.
Performance Improvement (PI CME) is also possible for some QI/PIP projects if our office is notified of the project early enough in the process.
PI/CME involves a long-term, three-stage process by which a physician or group of physicians learn about specific performance measures, assess their practice using the selected performance measures, implement interventions to improve performance related to these measures over a useful interval of time and then reassess their practice using the same performance measures. PI/CME can award up to up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and may qualify for satisfying certain specialty board maintenance of certification requirements.
