One position is available each year in our Complex Family Planning Fellowship on a competitive basis. Candidates may apply through the Society of Family Planning Complex Family Planning Fellowship Website: https://societyfp.org/fellowship/apply-to-fellowship/
Who is Eligible to Apply?
The Complex Family Planning Fellowship is open to physicians who have completed an accredited United States or Canadian ob-gyn residency program.
There are 33 fellowship sites at leading universities across the US.

career opportunities for fellows
Graduates of the fellowship go on to work as a complex family planning specialist in academic departments, freestanding family planning clinics, or internationally with NGOs. In the U.S., fellows have career opportunities in:
- Clinics
- Government
- Policy
- Non-government agencies
Fellows graduates are prepared to conduct family planning research, teach evidence-based medicine, and become leaders in national or international family planning. After completion of an accredited fellowship, they are eligible for ABOG subspecialty exams and certification.
