Why Utah?
As a rotating medical student, I was amazed by the large catchment area that the Moran Eye Center serves, which affords an unprecedented variety of learning opportunities. I was also impressed by the many global and local outreach efforts that serve the most at-risk communities. The dedicated elective time to foster involvement in medical education, public policy, and research was also a major selling point. Most importantly, the culture of the Moran emphasizes a collaborative and caring learning environment that emphasizes teamwork and respect. Utah's endless outdoor opportunities were the icing on the cake!
