Dr. Jan Verheijen was born in the Netherlands. He obtained his Msc in Neuroscience from Radboud University in Nijmegen. In 2017, he received his PhD in Neurogenetics from the Center for Molecular Neurology in Antwerp, Belgium. During his PhD, Dr. Verheijen investigated the genetic etiology of Alzheimer’s disease. His postdoctoral training at the Center for Individualized Medicine at Mayo Clinic focused on the curation and interpretation of genetic variation in rare and undiagnosed genetic disease. Outside of work, Dr. Verheijen enjoys running and is looking forward to exploring the Utah running trails.
