Jared Sheets

I am from Kaysville, Utah. I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a BS in Medical Laboratory Science in 2020. I have been employed in this capacity since then in various generalist roles but now work in flow cytometry for Intermountain Health. My thesis project is advised by Dr. Timothy Hanley; I am investigating the effect of HIV-1 infection on macrophages derived from different monocytic subsets to ascertain perturbations in innate immune function. My decision to pursue the MS in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Science stems from my own personal curiosity about the research process and a desire to engage with scientific method on a deeper level. Outside of school and work, I enjoy cooking, drawing and reading.
