Eighteenth Annual James R. Swenson, M.D. Scientific Symposium Day - Thursday, May 25th, 2023

In recognition of the founding Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. James R. Swenson (November 18, 1933-October 11, 2014), we have created a dedicated research symposium.
During the spring of 2023, the Department of PM&R held the 18th Annual James R. Swenson, MD, Scientific Symposium. The purpose of the symposium was to encourage the research mission of the department by highlighting recent research produced by department faculty and trainees. The symposium also brings in external speakers on topics relevant to the department’s research activities.
We look forward to the opportunity to showcase the department’s research each year. We are also very thankful for the opportunity to honor Dr. Swenson in this way, and we hope that his family is pleased with us and with the further development of the department’s research program. The wonderful success for this symposium is due in large part to the work of Colby Hansen, MD, who is the symposium organizer.
The University of Utah School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Registration is free and continuing medical education credit is available for attendance at the symposium.
The James R. Swenson, MD, Scientific Symposium Day is generously supported by the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation.
