Why Utah?
Definitely the people, both inside and outside the residency program. My roots run deep in Utah; through my med school training and interviews I was glad to learn that our psychiatry residency program here is full of so many good people committed to clinical excellence and supporting one another. Whether it is the attendings and residents or any of the nurses, therapists, or technical staff, I have been consistently impressed with the culture of professional respect and supportive environment that is here. Proximity to nature is of course a great outlet for encouraging mental health. I am extremely glad I have been able to continue my training here.
